I feel these files are the largest and has the least practical use, as games don't use OpenCL (to my knowledge) and people who mine don't update their drivers much, and copy pasting the OpenCL files over to the directory of a mining executable doesn't work. This article possibly contains original research. I'll try my best to keep this repository alive and going, but updates might be a little behind the schedule. I decided to keep both in my repository for OpenGL. Note: A Discrepancy Some of PrMinisterGR's OpenGL uploads are missing the "atig6txx.dll" file and has the "atig6pxx.dll" file instead. So now, you've the option to choose to download the API you need to inject from an older driver release, or download the whole package if you intend on benchmarking the whole suit. And having to download the complete set for doing this defeats the purpose of a "quickfix." I felt that since the complete set is significantly larger than individual API's dlls, decided to go the extra mile, as you may not need the dlls from the other APIs if you want to inject older drivers for a specific game. dll's and sub folders if they do not first uninstall the current Vulkan runtime.īut I could be wrong, still I'm pretty certain that it likely doesn't hinder anything if you do end up with multiple versions installed. ![]() (But I could be wrong, actual fixes and performance improvements would probably be mainly in the AMD driver files though and of course any patches for the software in question.)ĮDIT: Guessing it's to aid in development that the previous versions co-exist rather than them being uninstalled thus why users will end up with a multitude of different. Though the upcoming 1.0.58.0 and never (1.0.59.0 being the current latest I believe.) have some interesting enhancements from what I've read about them but I don't think any of the current Vulkan compatible games and software make use of these latest available SDK versions so using the newest available runtime probably helps for future compatibility but it likely doesn't do all that much for existing software using the Vulkan API until those are updated to a newer SDK base or some future Vulkan compatible software comes out which is using it. (Though there's likely few actual benefits to it too.) (1.0.57.0 if you take the latest SDK runtime, AMD should be using 1.0.54.0 in the current 17.8.x drivers.)ĮDIT: Ultimately though I don't think the runtime version is of too much importance compared to the driver file (AMDVLK was it?) though having the two match is probably the general idea thus AMD updates the runtime whenever the driver is updated.Īlthough interestingly enough the latest drivers use Vulkan driver version 1.0.51.0 for the AMD driver files with the separate Vulkan runtime at version 1.0.54.0 but using a newer runtime shouldn't be a issue. Vulkan-1.dll should be part of the separate redist, you should only need the latest one but I doubt anything will happen if you have multiples installed since Vulkan-1.dll will be replaced by the newest runtime so only that and it's accompanying. ![]()
